Our safety and security glass range covers tempered glass, bent curved tempered glass, laminated glass and bullet-resistant glass — produced to protect lives and property.
The tempering operation includes heating and cooling stages on a horizontal line in order to create compression stress on the exterior surfaces of the glass and indirect tensile stress in its middle area. Fully tempered glass is 5 times more durable than glass without any kind of processing. When broken, it scatters into very small, ice-like particles rather than large pieces; these fragments are expected to cause less harm than completely shattered float glass. Tempered glass, also known as hardened glass, is a type of safety glass.
Tempered glass is used in areas where the glass is expected to be hard to break and not to harm users when it does break, such as building façade glazing, home appliance glass, the automotive sector, shower cabin and bathtub glass, furniture glass, railings, banisters and glass balcony enclosure systems.
No cutting, drilling or edge and surface operations can be applied to the glass after tempering (except sanding). Minimum size: 300x300 mm / Maximum size: 2800x5900 mm.

Salt Cam is there for the architectural solutions you need. Producing curved glass in different thicknesses and sizes — from small curved panes to the glass of architectural structures — is easy for Salt Cam. We can produce all kinds of float and curved tempered glass up to a maximum size of 2500x3660 mm. The necessary cutting, drilling or edge and surface operations are carried out before tempering, and the glass is tempered as curved at the requested radius.

Laminated glass is produced by assembling two or more glass plates with interlayers of polyvinyl butyral (PVB), a special bonding agent, under heat and pressure. This process minimizes the risks arising from broken glass by holding the pieces together if the glass breaks. Laminated glass is used to protect lives and assets against external impacts, in addition to preventing injuries arising from accidents. It minimizes the risk of injury in accidents where people crash into the glass, provides security against external impacts, prevents or slows down attacks with rocks and bats as well as robbery attempts, and contributes to acoustic insulation.
Laminated glass blocks up to 97% of ultraviolet (UV) light, the cause of fading in objects and fabrics. It is also used in double-glazing units, so heat insulation is provided in addition to safety and security. Efficient heat control is achieved with laminated glass coated with Low-E. In addition to the standard Şişecam Lamine Cam (Laminated Glass) products, we produce tempered, coloured, curved, bullet-resistant and multi-layered glass according to the needs of our customers.
The structures requiring the use of safety glass are indicated in “TSE 13433 Glass – Used in Buildings – Code of Practice for Safety Related to Human Impact”. As set out in this standard, such glass should especially be used in places where glass shattering has dangerous consequences:

Bullet-resistant glass is produced in accordance with the EN 1063 standard and consists of multi-layered units providing protection against armed attacks. These counterattack units are produced, tested and calibrated according to their intended use for places where lives and assets are constantly at stake, such as banks, police stations, museums, military buildings, psychiatric wards and jewelry stores. The purpose of these products is to prevent crime, deter criminals and make it easy to identify the offender after the act.
Bullet-resistant glass is a laminated combination whose main layers are PVB, polyurethane and polycarbonate. The glass plates can be used as tempered glass when necessary. The total resistance of this glass is closely related to the properties of the carrier. Counterattack units consist of three categories: those resistant to impact, those resistant to unwanted intrusion and robbery, and those resistant to firearms.
